About the role
This role is for an AI engineer who has spent the last few years building and delivering AI solutions and is ready to move closer to clients.
You'll bring hands-on technical experience into pre-sales: understanding business problems, shaping AI solutions, building demos and proofs of concept, and helping clients understand what is technically possible, and what isn't.
You don't need to come from a sales background. You do need to have built real AI projects and be comfortable moving from the code to the conversation.
What you'll do
- Work with clients and internal teams to understand business problems and identify where AI can genuinely help.
- Translate business requirements into practical AI/ML and Generative AI solution concepts.
- Support discovery sessions, technical workshops, and solution presentations.
- Design solution approaches and contribute to technical architecture with the engineering team.
- Build demos and proofs of concept that show how a proposed solution would work.
- Explain AI concepts, architectures, capabilities, and limitations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support technical proposals, statements of work, and responses to RFPs/RFQs.
- Estimate technical scope and work with delivery teams to ensure what we propose can actually be built.
- Stay involved during the handover from pre-sales to delivery so context isn't lost between the two.
- Keep up with developments across AI, machine learning, and Generative AI and understand where they are relevant to client problems.
Must have
- Up to 3 years of hands-on experience delivering AI or machine-learning projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Python and experience using it to build real solutions.
- Hands-on experience with common AI and machine-learning libraries and frameworks.
- Experience delivering traditional AI/ML use cases such as forecasting, prediction, or classification.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI projects.
- A practical understanding of how AI solutions move from experimentation into production.
- Ability to understand a business problem and think through how technology could address it.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts without unnecessary jargon.
- Comfortable presenting your work and discussing technical decisions with others.
- Genuine interest in moving from a primarily delivery-focused role into AI pre-sales.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Arabic. Both are required for this role.
Nice to have
- Experience participating in client meetings, discovery workshops, or technical presentations.
- Exposure to solution architecture or technical design.
- Experience building demos, prototypes, or proofs of concept.
- Familiarity with RAG, LLMs, agentic AI, or AI orchestration frameworks.
- Experience working with APIs and integrating AI capabilities into existing systems.
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or similar.
- Experience delivering projects for enterprise, government, or regulated organisations.
- Exposure to proposals, RFPs, RFQs, or statements of work.
How you work
We value these qualities as highly as your technical skills.
- You're curious about the business problem before jumping to the technology.
- You can move comfortably between code, architecture, and a client conversation.
- You listen well and ask questions before proposing a solution.
- You can explain something technical without making the person across the table feel like they need to be an engineer.
- You're comfortable saying when AI isn't the right answer.
- You don't promise something to a client just because it sounds good in a presentation.
- You work well with delivery teams and respect the difference between a compelling demo and a production system.
- You're comfortable presenting, but you don't need to be a salesperson. Technical credibility comes first.
- You want to develop the commercial and client-facing side of your career without leaving the technology behind.
